Bereavement Support, Financial Assistance & Practical Advice

Whether you are newly bereaved, about to arrange a funeral or you just need some practical help, then a little impartial support or advice at this time, can go a long, long way.

We have put together links to a number of organisations, which we think might be helpful to you.

Bereavement Support

There are a number of charitable organisations and support groups across the country, who are able to provide quiet reassurance, and a confidential listening ear to anyone affected by death.

By contacting a dedicated support group or helpline, you need never face your grief alone.

Financial Assistance

Many employers, professional bodies and trade unions set up benevolent funds, trusts and charitable schemes to help (former/present) employees, workers allied to their industry, union members and often their family dependents too.

Funding is set aside specifically to help individuals who meet the organisation's criteria and who are themselves, experiencing hardship or crisis.

If you are in receipt of certain state benefits you may also qualify for financial assistance towards the cost of a funeral. British Gas Energy Trust also offer grants to help distressed residents in England.

In most cases, a formal application must be completed in full and submitted to the organisation for consideration. Click for links to financial assistance information.
