"I've have found this company to be very professional at all times. At such an emotional time they have showed the upmost empathy with families and guest.
Alleviating the added pressure from families who are grieving for their lost ones without the added pressure of concerns about cost, time and planning. I would highly recommend Hugh Gooding Funeral Services."

Modern Funerals

As the Natural Death Centre's approved funeral director for Leeds, we are able to offer our clients a range of natural, ethical and ecologically sound alternatives to the traditional funeral.

Our online obituary page provides those who would like to offer their condolences to the family, a paperless platform from which to do so. Donations can be made via our obituary page and some of our more environmentally conscious families, have request that charitable donations be made in lieu of flowers.

Should you wish to have a Civil or Humanist Celebrant preside over your loved one's funeral, we can recommend a suitable, non-religious officiant, based both on the character of the person who has passed away, and the needs of the family and other mourners.

Traditional Funerals: Cultural Religious

Here at Hugh Gooding Funeral Services, we respect the cultural and religious traditions of our clients and their families. The heritage and observances of those we serve, are of the utmost importance to us and we strive continuously to provide a superior service by enabling our clients to participate in their own funeral practice.

Over the years, we have had the privilege of working with people of all religious beliefs, of all races and from all walks of life. We help African, African-Caribbean, English, Irish, Latvian and Polish people from many Christian denominations and we serve Asian families of the Hindu and Sikh faiths.

We are often asked by individuals who no longer practice or who have converted from the religion they were raised within, to help arrange funerals that are respectful and inclusive. We feel honoured to have worked with people from Jewish, Muslim, Rastafarian and Roman Catholic backgrounds to name but a few.

African Caribbean/West Indian Funerals

We have been attending African and Caribbean/West Indian funerals all our lives, and we really do understand the scale and time frame that these occasions involve. In fact, it's probably fair to say that with our combined age and practical knowledge, our experience of (BME) funerals in Leeds, is unrivalled.

We have helped individuals from a range of faith groups, and we have had the privilege of working with observers of a variety of religious faiths, within the same family unit. Those who have come to us in their time of need, have included followers of the Rastafarian faith and also those who have converted/reverted to Islam. We have helped not only families in Leeds, but also individuals in Birmingham, Bradford, Huddersfield, Sheffield, Manchester and Wakefield.

We value the importance of family and we truly understand the stress that a family unit will undergo, having suffered the loss of a loved one. We are always happy to meet large families and we find that our warm, friendly approach, meets the needs of grieving relatives.
