    Gooding Funeral Services is an associate member of Digital Autopsy, having fully understood the need for an alternative to traditional, invasive post mortem techniques. GFS was amongst the first funeral directors in Leeds, to offer the services of Digital Autopsy.

    Digital Autopsy is pioneered by iGene, a company founded in Malaysia that specialises in the development of Advanced Medical Visualisation Technology worldwide - greatly benefitting the fields of forensics, life sciences, R&D and medical education.

    Since the early 2000s, iGene has worked to develop its Digital Autopsy software. This latest development represents a compassionate step forward in establishing a cause of death.  During its journey, iGene has won numerous awards and been cited by international journals for its pioneering work. iGene’s UK investment has even received praise from HRH Duke of Edinburgh & Prime Minister David Cameron.

    Funded entirely by iGene, each Digital Autopsy Facility
 is staffed by a team of highly skilled pathologists & radiologists. iGene remains committed to opening further centres, its ambition being to ensure that Digital Autopsy is available to residents throughout England & Wales.

    Gooding Funeral Services is a member of Dying Matters, a coalition of 30,000 individuals, organisations and groups across England and Wales. The aim is to help people talk more openly about dying, death and bereavement, and to make plans for the end of life.

    The National Council for Palliative Care (NCPC) set up the Dying Matters Coalition in 2009, to promote public awareness of dying, death and bereavement. The Coalition’s Mission is to help people talk more openly about dying, death and bereavement, and to make plans for the end of life. This will involve a fundamental change in society in which dying, death and bereavement will be seen and accepted as the natural part of everybody’s life cycle. Changes in the way society views dying and death have impacted on the experience of people who are dying and bereaved.

    Set up in 1996, the Forum is funded jointly by the three Leeds Clinical Commissioning Groups. Leeds Bereavement Forum acts as a signposting organisation for people looking for support and supports the need in society to express grief and come to terms with loss.

    The Forum works to develop and improve bereavement services in Leeds by providing access to up-to-date information, training opportunities, events, conferences and Special Interest Groups to bereavement professionals.

    Gooding Funeral Services is a proud member of the National Association of Funeral Directors and Xina Gooding Broderick, is an Executive Officer of the association’s Yorkshire Area Federation and both Xina and Peter Broderick are fully qualified funeral directors - each possessing the NAFD Diploma in Funeral Arranging and Administration.

    The NAFD is the voice of the funeral profession; it is a role they take extremely seriously, representing the views and interests of funeral businesses – and the bereaved families in their care – to the media and in all the UK’s Parliaments and Assemblies.

    Independent and inclusive, the NAFD is the largest trade association for the funeral sector with 3,800 funeral homes represented as well as hundreds of suppliers to the sector and international funeral firms.

    The NAFD represents the funeral profession at all levels of Government on legislative matters and campaigns on issues affecting not only funeral directors, but also bereaved families too. They provide informed opinion to Parliamentarians, Government agencies and consumer groups on all funeral matters.

    Established 22 years ago, The Natural Death Centre is a social, entrepreneurial, educational charity that gives free, impartial advice on all aspects of dying, bereavement and consumer rights.

    The Charity gives support on family organised and environmentally friendly funerals, and they run the Association of Natural Burial Grounds. Although green in outlook, they promote choice and education in all aspects of funeral

    Gooding Funeral Services is a member of The National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF).

    The organisation was established in 1989 and represents more than 870 privately owned, independent funeral homes across the UK. SAIF works hard within the profession to promote best practice and protect the interests of their members and their local communities. Along with representing the views of members at a national and local level, they also provide training and education programmes to ensure they continue to meet the highest of standards.

Our private ambulance call-out collection service is available to clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week 365 days a year. Private viewing is by appointment.
