Our Journey With Emil: Lippy People Video Series - Part 2 of 7

Published: 05.11.2018

We were so impressed by Lippy People's moving video content that we've decided to relaunch the Gooding Funeral Services blog with a series of their insightful videos.  This is part two of the seven part series.

Part 2 - "Our Journey With Emil" features Yvonne, Emil's mother, of Martin House Hospice in Leeds.

Yvonne talks candidly about her family life, her love of her young son Emil and the impact his death has had on her family.

This short video covers a few things, including the effect an unkind or inconsiderate healthcare professional can have on a bereaved family.  Luckily, the majority of healthcare professionals aren't like this, but it shows just how important it is to be kind to bereaved people.

More importantly, Emil's death has had an unexpected positive side effect on the family.  Have you been bereft and found hope after loss?  We'd love to hear your experiences below.

If you've been affected by the death of a child and you live in the Leeds area, please contact Leeds Bereavement Forum to see which child bereavement organisation is best suited to help you and your family to recover from your loss.

The Life, Loss, Legacy & Learning project is a Leeds based video storytelling project by Lippy People.  It helps people who are bereaved or are at the end of their life, to share their reflections and experience.  Carers Leeds helped Lippy People to identify and provide emotional support to the stars of some of these videos.
